Mission

Its Blaque was founded to highlight the artistic creatives in our black community. Our mission is to provide a platform that will allow black interior designers to showcase their talent.  We want to create opportunities for us by us in this industry that we can be proud of.  Join us as we evoke on this journey to express the beauty within our culture.

I am thrilled to announce that Its Blaque will feature its first SHOWHOUSE in the Spring /Summer of 2023. 

Its Blaque founded a platform for Black Interior Designers and Creatives to showcase their work. We saw that there was a need in the community and with a network of resources, an opportunity was created.

Our goal is to remind the world of who we are and the talents we possess. 

This year the Showhouse, a Modern Bungalow, is located in Conyers, Georgia.  It's about 2600sqft and will be a new built.

Its Blaque will donate a portion of its proceeds to Amore Transitional Group Inc. Amore Transitional Group, INC (ATG), established by Cousia Towns, is on a mission to provide educational, housing, and supportive resources for those foster care, high risk or disadvantage in an effort to promote their transition to adult leaders who positively impact their community.

The Show House Process:  

• Each applicant must fill out the application on the website.  On your cover page select two or three spaces in the house that you wish to decorate.  
• Applicants must submit a minimum of three images of their work maximum of ten.  These images will be used as a part of your profile work in the upcoming Its Blaque designer table book. 
• Design concepts are studied by a committee and designers are chosen based on those images to participate in the Showhouse.
• Each candidate is allotted one (or more) specific room(s). Note that sometimes designers are allotted spaces that they did not choose.
• Once you are chosen the designer will receive a welcome packet and a mood board for you to use as inspiration for your room.  
• The committee will provide general may provide inputs and design suggestions to ensure a smooth flow from room to room.
• Candidates get 6 to 8 weeks to design the room that they are allotted.
